Get involved and connect with others
There are lots of ways to support our greenspaces and connect with others and your local community.
Below we are sharing some tips on how you can get involved:
Tell people what you are doing
Some of us don’t like change so if you're making changes to support wildlife it’s good to explain what you’re up to and why. Talk to people. Put a sign up. Nature Scot have ‘Managed for wildlife’ signs you can download and put up but something more personal might work better!
Nature Scot’s ‘Make space for nature’ campaign has lots of ideas for how you can involve others.
Join a group
It can feel good getting together with others to do something - whether it’s doing something practical or campaigning for change.

Talk to your politicians
We need all governments (UK, Scottish and Local authorities) to act. They’re the ones who can make changes locally, nationally and internationally.
If you’re concerned about the Climate and Nature emergencies let your politicians know. You can write to them or talk to them in person or join a campaign. If you don’t know where to start the People’s Plan for Nature has ‘a vision for the future of nature, and the actions we must all take to protect and renew it.’
You might want support or help for your project. In that case, it can help to speak with your local Councillor.
Find and get in touch with your politicians:
