Energy

All the energy we use changes our climate. Heating our homes and buildings is the biggest domestic energy use. Use energy more efficiently such as insulating your home and buildings. Using the sun and the wind and water to provide our power impacts far less on our climate than fossil fuels.

Examples of how communities are taking climate action on Energy:

Climate Action Strathaven

Through the Retrofit Strathaven project, Climate Action Strathaven are helping the local community to make their homes more energy efficient, through facilitating works that upgrade the fabric of the building known as retrofitting.

South Lanarkshire College

South Lanarkshire College has had focus on sustainability and inclusion with the design and installation of its new buildings and teaching spaces to create Low Carbon and Low Energy Spaces for Learning.

Blantyre Soccer Academy

The premises of Blantyre Soccer Academy underwent renovation to transform them into a multi-purpose community hub and to reduce the energy costs for the charity.

Clyde Valley Housing Association

Clyde Valley Housing Association offers guidance and support though its Wellbeing Hub service which includes advice to their tenants on reducing the cost of their energy bills.

Home Energy Scotland

Home Energy Scotland helps people in Scotland create warmer homes, reduce their energy bills, and lower their carbon footprint. They are funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Energy Saving Trust.

Local Energy Scotland

Local Energy Scotland offers a range of financial support and advice to community groups to get local energy projects up and running. They administer and manage the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).

Community Energy Scotland

Community Energy Scotland is a charity dedicated to supporting communities across Scotland to develop their own decarbonisation & renewable energy projects. They provide independent and ongoing practical & technical support for community project development.
