The Hub can help you bring your ideas to life. Perhaps you have an idea for a specific climate action project or perhaps you would like more climate activity to be included within your group’s activities.
Here are some examples of projects that the Hub has supported
Make Your Way, Travel
Make Your Way project promotes local walking, wheeling, cycling and sustainable modes of transport in and around the rural communities of South Lanarkshire. They work with designers along with local community knowledge to actively collaborate in identifying and mapping walking and cycling routes. The routes are available on printed maps, available to download from a website and displayed on community mapboards.
Grow 73, Greenspaces
Grow 73 is a charity covering the areas of Rutherglen and Cambuslang aiming to help people of all ages and abilities to grow their own produce, learn how to lead more sustainable lives and support local biodiversity. They have given climate action kits to local groups which include water collection systems that diverts rainwater from mains drainage and composting kits.
South Lanarkshire College, Climate Engagement
South Lanarkshire College has sought to motivate staff, students, visitors and other users of the college buildings to consider changes for more sustainable behaviours while taking climate action. They a have established a student led climate change ambassador programme led by reps from the Student Association.
Cloudberry Communities, Waste
One of the themes of climate action supported by Cloudberry Communities is to support active travel activities in the eight former mining villages of the Northern Corridor in North Lanarkshire. They promote access in a sustainable way through bike loans and through developing the skills to maintain and upcycle bikes with young people.
Larkhall Community Growers, Food
Larkhall Community Growers is a small social enterprise whose main aim is to make a positive impact on the lives of people living in the Larkhall Community. They have given climate action kits to local groups which include water collection systems that diverts rainwater from mains drainage and composting kits.
David Livingstone Centre
The David Livingstone Centre hosts the David Livingstone Birthplace Museum as well as a 26 acre parkland. The museum recently received the Silver Green Tourism Award after taking numerous steps to becoming a more sustainable project.

Loco Home Retrofit, Energy
Loco Home Retrofit is a Glasgow-based co-operative of householders, contractors and advisers focused on promoting energy efficiency within our homes, tackling the climate crisis and keeping energy bills affordable.
Angus and Dundee Cycle Hub, Travel
The Cycle Hub is a social enterprise with bases in Angus and Dundee dedicated to supporting cycling and active travel. They deliver projects to encourage people to lead healthier lives and reduce short car journeys and C02 emissions through cycling and bike reuse.
Transition Stirling, Waste
Transition Stirling is an environmental charity focusing on improving awareness of and providing a positive local response to climate change. Projects include a share and repair hub, a food hub and a reuse hub along with events to share practical skills in living in a more circular economy.
Clyde Climate Forest, Greenspaces
Clyde Climate Forest is a project covering Central Scotland with the vision to see up to 1.5 million urban trees planted, 200 woodland habitats connected and 9000 hectares of new forests and woodland created.
The MAXwell Centre, Food
The Maxwell Centre is a charity based in Dundee that delivers services through its centre and community garden, which connects the community with nature, food growing and healthy habits.
