Climate Conversations are facilitated discussions which aim to encourage effective action on climate change. A host arranges a session through SCCAN, who provide a facilitator to lead the conversation.
The facilitator's role is to help guests understand what climate change is, what can be done to mitigate it, and inspire people to take action, through different activites & discussion.
Climate Conversations are for anyone who is interested in knowing more about climate change and how they can help make a positive difference. The ideal size for climate conversations is 5-6 people in person, or 6-12 online.
Some of the benefits to taking part in Climate Conversations include:
- Climate conversations facilitate discussion which enables all participants to contribute
- Inspiring people to take positive climate action
- The content of the sessions can be tailored to suit the group
- Surveys show that 9 out of 10 participants leave feeling empowered
To arrange a Climate Conversations session, contact Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN). They will be able to arrange a facilitator to come along to your session.
